Newton's first law is the law of inertia, which states that an object will stay at its current velocity unless acted on by an outward force. Thus, a moving object will stay moving unless an outside force acts on it. In many cases on earth, the outside opposing force is friction. Its sorta hard to answer the question what would happen without Newton's first law, because there are many alterantes to the situiation. All i can say is that the Universe with which we live in would not exist, as atoms most likely would not even be able to form.

What is the alternative?
Will object remain in motion regardless of external forces?
Will objects be unmovable?
Will objects have no effect on each other?

How about you suggest a replacement law?
What is WingZero's firt law of motion?

If mass required constant external force to continue in motion, all the energy in the universe would eventualy disappear. And matter would eventualy cease to exist. Or whatever

Without newtowns first law, nothing would change, at least beyond human knowledge. A law is simply a collection of words. Now if the effects that the law described where to suddenly cease, well then that is a whole new situation.
