Can someone please explain to me how thermal energy is converted in to electrical energy? And why does most thermoelectric devices have a low efficiency? For instance one of the product HZ-2 featured on http://www.hi-z.com/ (http://) can only convert about 5% of the thermal energy to electrical energy
