A square flat coil which has 100 turns rests on a horizontal table. The length of a side is 12cm. One metre of the wire of the coil has resistance 0.33Ω. The ends of the coil are connected to a resistor of resistance 20Ω. The magnetic flux density is reduced at a uniform rate from 0.04T to zero in 0.8s. Calculate the current in the resistor.

ok, so far i have:

100 turns = 400 sides
400 sides = 400*0.12 = 48m
48m @ 0.33Ω/m = 16Ω

V = N dΦ/dt = 100 * 0.04/0.8 = 5V

I = V/R = 5/16 = 0.3125 Amps

can someone verify this or if it is wrong, how do i correct it? thanks :smile:
