I've got an idea for a website that I think will be a popular public service (i.e. the business model is that it pays for itself via advertising, not via product, service or membership fees) and I want to figure out all my options for setting it up with advertisers and Ad words, etc.
I'm looking for a primer on web advertising and drumming up sponsorship. Googling for that kind of thing doesn't produce much that's useful. Can anyone point me at somewhere useful?
