I have been asked to investigate a practical way of calculating an effective thermal conductivity for the fuelled portion of a fuel sphere. This is based on the fuel used in High Temperature reactors.
This part I think I manage to find some methods such as the integral method or using the empirical formula. Now, If one employs a lumped thermal conductivity coefficient. What are the expected deviations?
