I know the subject is tongue-in-cheek, but I am curious...

Well, that's scarier than my Michael Jackson/Joan Crawford picture!! It brings to mind the movie "The Elephant Man". What the heck are those things hanging off of their BUTTS?? Are those supposed to be muscles? Gross!!!!!!!

My exact same thoughts ! [:D]

I do wonder, though, where I might find pictures of body builders who have let their bodies go to waste. I hear that the muscles turn to fat?

Does anyone have them handy? [;)]

EDIT: By the word 'them' in the last sentence, I mean the pictures.

Those guys are massive freaks of nature. But the kind of training, discipline and nutrition they have to go through is just amazing. It takes real dedication, endurance and self-control to get to that stage. Their bodies are work of art.

LOL! That's a quadricep, Monique. Or, "quad", as they are referred to in the profession.

Coincidentally, this past Sunday morning the preacher and my church was speaking about how we (Christians) should train ourselves to be successful in our endeavors to accomplish certain things in life. One of the main points he made was that before an athlete begins to train, he must first decide what form of athletic competition he is training for.

As an illustration, he used bodybuilders. He mentioned that to make it as a professional bodybuilder, one must have a high degree of discipline and self-control and adhere strictly to a regime of diet and exercise. However, no amount of dedication to a bodybuilder's training schedule will help you achieve excellence as a ballerina.

Instantly, everyone in the room that a mental picture of these guys wearing tutus. Most disturbing.

In bodybuilding, when they're posing, they usually hold and tighten their muscles for minutes at a time. Try tightening your biceps or your shoulders and see how long you can hold it. It can get difficult.

They're judge on the definition and development of each muscle group, how it overall relates to their body frame and other factors.
