Why the sigh? Look at those pictures!! *sigh* I actually really like the Mulder character, his dry sense of humor always cracks me up.. I'm in love.. remember the time that Mulder had to solve a case and Scully was giving him advice over the phone about witchcraft and paranormal stuff and he interrupts her and says: "Scully?" "Yes?" "Will you marry me?" And she hangs up the phone? [6)] I believe the episode was Chinga.

Do you know if Natalie Merchant had a song on her Tiger Lily CD that was about his death? I was told by someone (unreliable) that this is true. Do you know? What a sad, sad thing to happen. He was such a bright, young talent...[*(]
hmmm.. I don't know. I haven't heard that but wouldn't be surprised if she did. I could see Natalie Merchant doing something like that... I'll have to look into it.
Yes, I still remember the day everyone found about about his death. I was in art class, in high school, and I couldn't believe it. I walked around the rest of the day in a daze, utter disbelief. At that time I still greatly desired to be an actress myself and River had been one of my most admired inspirations. [*(]

I just pulled out my Tiger Lily CD - I NEVER pay attention to song names anymore - don't know why - but the 4th track is called 'River', so I'm quite sure now, that this song is about him. It is truly a beautiful song. You MUST listen to it if you can. If you recall, right after he died there was all kinds of trash being slung about him dying of a drug OD, and other unsavory things. This song is about all that. Track 5 is also excellent (Carnival).

All of the smilies changed during an upgrade. It was the GREAT SMILEY DEBACLE. We got new, rather hideous smilies. Thanks to Tsu and a few others that had happened to save the pictures, Greg agreed to replace most of the new smilies with the old ones, but the descriptions changed.

Underwear sticking out of your pants is NOT attractive. I don't know who decided it was a good style, or why that look has lasted so long, but it's only made worse if it's briefs and not boxers sticking out. Every time I see some kid with their underwear sticking out the top of their too low pants, I just want to yank their pants up and secure them in place with duct tape. It's even worse on a grown man.

Physically, I go for the non-muscular, tall, skinny, scruffy, slightly long tousled hair and glasses look. A deep, rich voice is a must.

Is this because there is a higher probability (actually, I'm not so sure about that, but let's assume I am :tongue2:) that a guy who matches your description will be of considerable intelligence (since you said intelligence is sexy), or is it simply what you've always liked? Just curious.

I had to look up who he is. Nope, that's salty, not teddybear-ish. And too big. Teddy Bears aren't incredibly fat, they just have cute little tummies for poking.
Since Seinfeld was mentioned...the guy who plays George on Seinfeld is really cute (not the character he plays though). Having a little bit more muscle would be better, though (he looks a bit flabby).

Just curious. Hmmmm, good question. As far back as I can remember I have always been attracted to this type physically. I wouldn't be attracted to someone that met my physical preferences if he didn't meet my criteria for intelligence, humor and overall personality. However, I can be attracted to someone that doesn't meet my physical criteria if they meet my other criteria.
If his voice was like Jerry Seinfeld's, then I fully understand you. That would be bad, but this guy sounded too feminine, his voice was too high and I just cringed whenever he spoke. :frown:

Same here. I've always been attracted to the shorter guys. I think age though has shaped a preference for a little fat (when I was young, I was attracted to a younger physique, which is usually leaner than the men in my age range now). I think I notice shoulder width first though...broad shoulders are very attractive. But, other than looking across a room and saying, "Oh, he's really cute," I've dated men of pretty varied body types, from the scrawny type Evo prefers, to the very overweight. It's much more about personality and attitude and intelligence for me...all three weighted somewhat equally.
I think I notice shoulder width first though...broad shoulders are very attractive.Check out twisting_edge's shoulders in that car picture. :!!) In fact, he has the broadest, squarest shoulders of any man I've ever met. :!!) :!!) :blushing:

 That is more my type of music. The guy holding the fan is closer to my type...fit, nice shoulders, but still has a little tummy that tells me he isn't going to be neurotic about what he eats or do nothing but hang out in a gym. Any thinner or more bumpy (too big of muscles), and I wouldn't find him attractive. So, that's the "thin" end of my spectrum of tastes.
...like this guy... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfxhVFT9b8E)
That would be pretty much the other end of the spectrum...getting a little too much on the pudgy, soft side for me, but with a little more exercise or physical work to build up his arms and lose maybe 15-20 lbs of the fat (and a shave and haircut...how old is that footage?), yeah, he's still an attractive man.
See, you're narrowing it down. I sent Evo a photo of a guy that really suits my taste well (except he's supposedly gay...oh well, if we're just talking about eye candy, I guess that's not too important), but it came from a site that I can't link to here, so I can't share with everyone. :shy:

I don't know if it's the outfit, or if he actually lost weight, but he does look thinner there. Is he really losing that lovely voice, or was he sick for that performance? He has a glass of water in front of him that makes me wonder if he had a sore throat he was trying to nurse through the performance...or maybe age has finally caught up.
This one popped up at the end of your clip...it's from 1998. I think he has a really handsome face hidden behind that scraggly beard. This one is just plain fun. (And what guy doesn't look good in a tux?)

Well, the last couple of years there was a real decline in his singing ability. Ofcourse, he still has a voice (allthough he is 70 now !!!) of which the quality exceeds most tenors that i have heard. His last public performance was at the 2006 Torino winter games but the singing was quite bad. Than again, that is also the period where he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer from which he is now recovering succesfully.
In the clip you provided, he was around 60. He still sings quite good there and for a guy of that age, he looks very good as well.
