In the 2004-2005 academic year, the Quantum Gravity Seminar
at UCR is about gauge theory and topology. Derek Wise is
taking notes on my lectures.
In the penultimate week of the Fall quarter, week 9:

we showed how to compute the vector space for the circle in
the Fukuma-Hosono-Kawai topological quantum field theories.
Such a theory is built using a semisimple algebra, and the
vector space of the circle is just the *center* of this algebra!
The proof involves some pretty pictures.
