View Full Version : Water droplet collision

I have a certain problem which I need to solve. Unfortunately it requires a whole lot of knowledge on fluid mechanics, and I know pretty much nothing about the subject. So... this is not the whole problem, but really the only part I need help in:

What happens when two water droplets collide?

From the experiments we've done, it seems that the collision is elastic or "bouncy", but I can't think of this in the same way as say a collision of two balls, right? Now does the Weber number (tried to do some research on that but didn't find much) have something to do with this? Viscosity? What other related things are there, how do they affect this, and what actually happens in the collision?

I hope someone understands the subject better than I do and could help me out here.
