Anyhoo, this is really a non-issue, isn't it? Bush has made America look foolish, and Mexican soccer fans are notorious for their scathing political rhetoric. [:)]

Mexicans have plenty of reasons, both good and bad, to hate Americans. Sports fans are likely to do just about anything stupid. Combine the two, and you get something like this. I imagine that a fair number of the dead in the World Trade Centers were of Mexican origin, possibly even Mexican citizens. I doubt that occurred to the bozos in the crowd.

The Spanish say "Futbol", the Russians call it "Footbol" (cant get russian lettering to work!), the Italians say "Calcio" meaning "foot", the French say "de football"...need i go on?

America did take almost half of their territory (now western half of U.S.) back in the ninteenth century. I would be pretty mad too. At least America wans't so imperialistic (suprising since it was under President Polk) to just take over the country in itself when America won the war like they did with the Philippines.
