I have been reading Leo Brewin's notes on Riemann normal coordinates.www.maths.monash.edu.au/~leo/preprints/preprint02.ps.gz

I don't know how to obtain equation (3.3).

Can anyone please help???
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

2. Relevant equations

3. The attempt at a solution

Try differentiating (3.1) and substituting in x^\mu

(By the way, I wouldn't say that this was an introductory physics question. More advanced physics, or maths; calculus and beyond).

OK. Thank you. I've done that but I'm stuck again because the only thing I could obtain is this: http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r89/whose_ryan/ClipBoard-11.jpg

(I know now that this isn't an introductory physics question... But can someone help me again?)
