He moves around too much when lecturing. Its distracting.
Nice find though.

Yes, great find!
It seems like one lecture (#3 Conservation Principles) is missing and three (#1, #5, and #7) are truncated.
For more Feynman,
there's the Vega/Auckland "QED" lectures, the NOVA "Pleasure of Finding Things Out", and a Simon Fraser colloquium

Yes, there seem to be some problems with some of the lectures. Hopefully not for long.
He's thinking of uploading them again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8E-6aYm0tA
Thank you robphy for your links. I wasn't aware of the strong interaction lecture at Simon Fraser. Wonderful! Thanks again.
Any more interesting lectures on Physics and/or Maths online?
Regards to all.

Just a note: I was contacted by the attorney representing the heirs to the estate of Dr. Feynman and asked to remove the videos and destroy my copies under threat of legal action. I just want to reiterate here that I complied a long time ago, which is why the videos went inactive shortly after being uploaded.
Apparently, however, they are for sale. I encourage all of you to go out and purchase the lectures. I do not, at this time, know *where* they are for sale.

You can get these lectures in print from any bookstore, they are published with the title, "The Character of Physical Law" by MIT press I believe. I just finished reading the book, and it was quite interesting, a good introductor explanation to physics basics (in my humble opinion).

Yes, I am aware they are in print, and in fact own a print copy. I have absolutely no knowledge of anywhere you can purchase videos though. The attorney did make it clear that the videos were indeed for sale retail, he just failed to mention where.

Probably through Cornell...

That's the thing, I don't know where to start looking. The Lectures aren't anywhere inside recent copyright records. It could just as easily belong to BBC, Cornell, the Feynman family, MIT Press, etc. IP is horrid like that.

An update on these lectures: they are on Google Video (at least for now?).

If it's not legal, its not on our side but on Google's side imo.
I can't find where to buy them on VHS or anything.

I fail to see what's there to see. I don't see Feynman as an extraordinary lecturer, and even if I did, he would just be one among many others. Personally I couldn't care less of Feynman's views on the subject of physics; I am only interested in what knows about it.

Its how he presents the information. The brilliance with which it is conveyed. I've attended a few lectures, and from the narrow sampling that I've taken, Feynman stands out as being entertaining, while conveying a large amount of important insights into physics. It may be just that his teaching style resonates well with me, I don't know. I just know that I enjoy his ability to teach
