Learning Software

I'm trying to create my own artificial intelligent piece of software.

I'm wondering, has anybody here come across good websites (forums, article-bases, etc) for creating learning software?

Making "motivated" software to learn is very hard, and I'm also pondering alternatives to the "neural net".
