Today is the 13th day of our new year and we call it nature's day. Everyone go out and spend the day in nature! I guess that's because our ancestors believed 13 is evil, so they thought it would bring you bad luch whole the year if you spend the 1st 13th of the year at home.
Do you also have holy and evil number in your culture? Not sure but I guess your evil number is 6, eh?

Wait! what was this thread about? (http://physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=150485&page=2)

Where have you been? Say hi to the hostages for me, you trouble maker. :tongue2:

13 is an unlucky number.

After you shamed me with your rendering of Math is Hard, who dares compete with your skills?

Happy Birthday.

Thanks, the skin tones definitely need some work, but it was kind of interesting to try a portrait. I play with photoshop once a year at most. The glasses need work, too.

13 in Greek Orthodox, is used sometimes to represent the 12 apostils and Jesus, so it is in fact a lucky number.

I remember my grandma telling me this when I turned 13 .

I was born on friday 13th. I guess that makes 13 my lucky number.

Btw, why does the number 13 represent 12 apostoles?

Anttech
Apr6-07, 11:48 AM
12 apostles + Jesus = 13

radou
Apr6-07, 11:57 AM
12 apostles + Jesus = 13

Oh, I missed the "and Jesus" part. Btw, who said that addition of apostles and Jesus is defined? :tongue2:

Anttech
Apr6-07, 12:02 PM
If you assume Jesus is 1 and the apostles = 12 then the maths is ok

I've got a feeling that Jesus wouldn't be too fond of your assumptions, but let's do so, for the sake of simplicity and clarity.

7 is a holy number in our culture! As for 13 I've seen some people to use 12+1 in order to avoid using 13! :bugeye:
