The old rule of thumb for avoiding camera shake is to use a shutter speed of 1/focal-length of the lens in use.
(maximum exposure time = 1 / focal lenght (in seconds). )

1.Why it is like that?
2.What is the connection between exposure time(shutter speed) and 1/focal lenght?
3.How to get this pattern from a start?
I couldn't find any tips in my books....
