Hi everyone,
I searched on amazon and I couldn't find a satisfactory answer. I'm looking for a book who explains the physical explanations of many day-to-day technologies on a high enough level (e.g. how DVDs work, laser, electricity production, how thunder works, etc.). The problem is I understand a lot of theory, but the teachers rarely explain us how to put together what we know to explains casual phenomena/technologies.

Any suggestions?
