journal acceptance

I write this on behalf of my teacher who is writing a paper on quantum
optics to be published in one of the top peer-reviewed journals in the
field. Most of the numerical calculations have been done using
Mathematica 6.0. Would it be necessary to recode all of that in some
orthodox environment like fortran, c, c++ or java for the referee to
accept it? Or would Mathematica codes be sufficient? How do physics
referees usually view such CAS platforms?

There is no problem with Mathematica. It is used fairly often for
calculations and especially for generating plots. As usual, it is best
not to worry about the tool but rather how its used.
