:rofl: Yep, it gets tough. Though, it should be more bell-shaped. You do hit a point where it gets easier. You tell someone, "I'm a professor" (after you give up explaining the nuances of assistant, associate and full professor) and they ask, "Oh, what do you teach," and then I just name a class I teach. The roughest are the post-doc years. It's hard enough explaining why you already have a Ph.D. but don't have a real job yet and still need more training.
