Tajel's not the only one... ...I'm due to have my PhD viva in about 3 weeks' time. However, my external examiner, who is Chinese, works in the USA and is currently a visiting professor in Germany, has had his visa application to come to the UK for my viva turned down. If his re-application doesn't succeed, then it looks like I'm gonna have to do it in Germany, or he has to go all the way back to the US to reapply!
