I'll nominate zoobyshoe. Is there going to be an evening gown competition? :tongue2:
Lol...saying zoobyshoe tickles my tongue :tongue2: .its a nice name
We'll all wear'em jen... y not? :yuck:
What about "Rathma"? He did take over the world you know. :approve:
Maybe I'll have to follow in my namesake's footsteps... THEN you'll vote for me...BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
PS: Is there a "best maniacal laugh award"? That I would win.
Chaos. Disorder. Widespread panic. My work is done here.
I'll nominate zoobyshoe...
I would like to second that nomination. I would definitely vote for
zoobyshoe as the best username in recent memory
if anyone ever declares a signature-line contest then holly's original one should be in the running
when she first appeared at PF she had a sig that said something like
"If I have seen less than other people it's because some giant's
shoulder was always in the way."
Personally I think Zero's avatar is unforgettable, I couldn't get through the first month since I saw it without thinking about it everyday. I have always wondered what that guy wacked in the head is in defiance of. Zero's signature though is funny, for if he rules, wouldn't that make him a "ruler" :tongue2: .
Trogdor
May13-04, 02:38 PM
you all are forgeting one thing here: Trogdor the Burninator rules!!!
That's all I have to say about that
Math Is Hard
May13-04, 02:39 PM
I will also cast my vote for Zoobyshoe.
...zoobyshoe... .its a nice name
My cat seems to like it... We named her Zoobie after Zooby.
I, of course, am a bit partial to 'Ivan Seeking'.
This might be considered a little vain for a first post but I nominate myself.
I know I don't have as much name "cred' as some of the more active users...
But that's what I'm trying to get.

I throw my hat in for Trogdor. zoobyshoe is a cool handle, but I don't see him burninating any peasants.

I vote tribdog. I think there is a vaguely amusing story behind the name, and me n trib have to stick together!
I, of course, am a bit partial to 'Ivan Seeking'.
I vote for Ivan Seeking. Of course, zoobyshoe comes in a close second for me.
While zoobyshoe does sound cool, hypnagogue sounds better. IMO hypnagogue has those alternating stressed/unstressed syllables that just rolls off the tongue.

After the nominations are closed will someone pots a poll for the voting? Is that how it's done? I have been told that there are several different PF Awards given each year.

Zoobies do not burninate anything. Our brush shelters are too flammable.
Can I get some creativity points?

Well, I guess there is THAT! AND that 'all-lower-case-letters' look... I can't get enough of that!! OK, russ_watters! In MY book, you just got a 'point'!
I want the "most useless member" award. Someone vote for me!!
Sorry, Chopnik. Can't do it. You are not the most useless member. You keep me and your PF mom highly entertained. I don't think you can count on her vote either. (Of course, if the prize is BIG and there is prize-sharing and chocolate involved... who's to say... )
Give us a run-down of those prizes, Evo!!

New Rule: best name has to be original
i_wish_i_was_smart
May18-04, 12:46 PM
what qualifies as original then
jimmy p
May18-04, 01:01 PM
i think my name is quite original... no-one else is called jimmy p on PF
Can I get some creativity points?
Only if your name is not Russ Watters.

what qualifies as original then
Well, using a character's name, such as Trogdor, is not original. If you are just using your real name, that is not original, since your parents came up with it (plus, you don't get any style points). Having part of your name is acceptable if it's incorporated into something clever.
Glad I could dictate the rules.
jimmy p
May18-04, 05:38 PM
hmmm i think that it is still unfair, no-one else uses my name therefore I'm original.
(and i dont care about minor details like "They Cant")
Hey, Chopnik is pretty original. Can I change my vote to Chopnik?
jimmy p
May18-04, 05:54 PM
woot!! a vote, you ARE the greatest PF mom!!! Look below!
Hey, Chopnik is pretty original. Can I change my vote to Chopnik?
It's not though. 'Chopnik' is a character in a TV series, that used to be a comic book series.
And Dissident Dan, when were you declared 'Rule Dictator'? I see no occupation of the like anywhere. Characters, if in obscure books that no one but me has read in 60 years, are perfectly acceptable. (I stripped you of your self-appointed rank! I have a strange sense of power... ) A vote for Rathma is a vote for your collective jugulars staying where they are!
Chaos. Disorder. Widespread panic. My work is done here.
jimmy p
May18-04, 07:16 PM
you dont scare us!! we're mean and tough!! and besides, my heart doesnt beat so ripping out my jugular would only serve as a minor inconvience when it comes to socialising.
It's not though. 'Chopnik' is a character in a TV series, that used to be a comic book series.
Whoa!! What? What TV series? When? What comic book series?
And sorry, Dissident Dan. I have to agree with mean, rotten, nasty Rathma. Only the person who started the thread can make the rules. And the thread is called BEST Username Award - NOT Most Original.
And, so as not to show any favoritism...
Rathma - GET REAL, you whacko!!
It's not though. 'Chopnik' is a character in a TV series, that used to be a comic book series.I did a search and there is no chopnik character.
Who would've thought rathma was capable of such evil?? :surprise:

HA!!!!!!!! BUSTED!!!! Rathma, you're GROUNDED!! GO TO YOUR ROOM!! (hmmm... I don't know... this 'mom' thingy is sort of fun... )

See, my screenname explains all you need to know about me. Like U-235, I'm inherently unstable, and if you get enough of me in concentration, you get disastrous results.

notice the deft flick on the 'k' of Chopnik?? THAT is originality.

Peter Pan
May19-04, 04:51 PM
what is a "chroot"?
Peter Pan
May19-04, 04:52 PM
I have always been partial to "Halls of Ivy" it has a ceritan ring to it
what is a "chroot"?
<operating system> The UNIX command to make the root
directory (/) become something other than its default for the
lifetime of the current process. It can only be run by
privileged users and is used to give a process (commonly a
network server such as FTP or HTTP) access to a restricted
portion of the file system.
The new root contains copies of all the essential files and
directories, e.g. /lib, /dev/tty, /tmp.
A lot of us are partial to Halls of Ivy.
edit: oops. credit where credit is due... The above definition was from Dictionary.com
Trogdor
May19-04, 06:46 PM
*crowd starts cheering* TROGDOR! TROGDOR! TROGDOR! TROGDOR! TROGDOR!
so what if I'm not original? I'm still the best! I'm awesome!
hypnagogue
May20-04, 07:26 AM
I came up with hypnagogue before I even knew it was a word. How's that for originality? :tongue2:
Unfortunately, I don't have a muscle bound arm bulging from my neck, so I must still defer to Trogdor.
How did we ever forget to include this in the annual awards?
Hypercase
Dec25-04, 04:07 AM
Nothing states it like HYPERCASE (quite an accurate description too :) ).
Besides i could qualify as the best forum lurker. :)
I think 'check' is the best. Short, original and to the point. Plus it's a good nickname.
