That professor is awesome, he is neatly able to represent the vast majority of professors =]
I think I progressed from stage one to stage two in about a month!

Haha, same here. I just do my assignments, or bring things to read.

 I laughed at some of the grad students for bringing their Sudoku puzzles to seminar. I told them that they should have the decency to hide them inside a journal article until after the lights are dimmed. I used to stay awake by watching how other people tried to hide that they were falling asleep. It's fun to watch the Dept. Chair start head-bobbing in the middle of a seminar when he runs out of papers to sign (he'd bring everything requiring a signature to seminar).
I am out of all possible type of seminars and meetings for over 10 years now, but I see I was not alone during those gatherings being engaged in social sciences - just observing what others do.

Ha, i was sitting next to a student in philosophy who brings the philosophy book and sits it on his table with a crossword on the inside, he forgot to bring the crossword one day so he sat in his seat with his table in the seat ahead of him, when he fell asleep he hit his head on the seat ahead of him. He hasn't slept since that day though.
