View Full Version : What are the problems with defining a 'squared velocity tensor'?

Hello,

When each component of the stress-Energy tensor is divided by a mass
density, the result is a tensor object in which each component has the
same units as velocity squared. I am trying to imagine whether it is
possible to make sense of this as an independent object i.e. without
reference to the stress-energy tensor.
The fact that I have never heard of such an object leads me to wonder
whether besides the obvious challenge in conceptualizing such a
quantity there are any other problems which would render it non-
sensical as a stand-alone object?
