HC11 or HC12 assembly langauge to control external CD player

I am looking for a few examples for how to write the code in assembly langauge for either the hc11 or hc12 in order to control the stop/play, open/close, advance to next track for a standard CD rom player with IDE interface. Any ideas where to start would be appreciated.
