To all the film soundtrack lovers out there:
I recently got this soundtrack at the store, and its great. The main theme is excellently composed and is followed by two massive suites (6 and 9 minutes respectivly). The song "The Mission Begins" has a very epic feel to it by reiterating the main theme with a strong low brass line, comparable to "The White Tree" in the Return of the King soundtrack. The many piano solos dotting the remainder of the soundtrack are solemn and reflect the series' dark nature, masterfully employing the minor scale to its fullest extent.
Personally after hearing this soundtrack id rate Michael Kamen up there with Klaus Badelt and Howard Shore.
