I don't know if this is the write place to put this. It was either here or in the programming section but it doesn't really involve programming so.....
I have been reading a few pages on wikipedia and there are some diagrams which I do not know how to interpret. Would someone be able to give me a hand please?

The link about is to one of the diagram? can anyone tell me what each of the symbols mean please? Or even if someone could tell me what the type of diagrams are called so I can read about it myself.
