Far from unlikely, the shadow explanation is simple, logical, and likely. There's a news crew there with lights and people walking around. The behavior of the image as it crosses the (non-flat) mantel clearly shows itself to be a projected shadow, not an actual figure. People SO want to believe this kind of silly stuff that they don't want to see anything that refutes it. Besides, Michael Jackson was quite insistent that he would not return to Never Land.
