So I have a matrix of electric potentials in excel that were experimentally attained, effectively a scalar field f(x,y), and I was curious if there was a relatively simple way to numerically compute the gradient of this scalar field without resorting to find a "best-fit" scalar function.
I have a copy of maple, which I hope would be able to handle this relatively simple operation... but I am a "n00b" at it :P
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
