Wormholes, if they exist, would be too unstable to exist for very long, and would have tiny mouths while they existed. Fine. But even being told that there will be a wormhole appearing in the next ten minutes in a certain cubic meter of space, and you are in a spaceship with all conceivable sensors next to that metre of space, how could you confirm that the wormhole had appeared? If there is no way to measure it, can physics talk about something unmeasurable?
