Somehow, my number of posts would not increase when I post a topic or reply. Help!

Posts on General Discussion don't increase your post count.

Thanks for letting me know. But will the number of posts increase in any other sections of the forum?

Of course. Otherwise how would you have gotten 33 posts?
This doesnt mean go post your dumb polls etc. in the other forums.

They won't increase in Politics or Brain Teasers either. Generally, the "lounge" is for goofing off, so doesn't count toward your post count.

I see your point, Moonbear. Thanks for the replies, guys!
Is the post count important? Think about it.

It depends on one's point of view.
Forum feedback doesn't count either any more.

Sometimes. People look at your post count, and if it's fairly low (like mine) they assume you're a newb and, sometimes, even, dismiss you as a result. Little do they know...
I still don't understand why Skepticism and Debunking and philosophy posts count. I thought we had decided that the entire lounge wouldn't go toward post count.

If the entire lounge didn't count, I'd have no post count at all. Okay, maybe one for offering essay writing help.

Just go in every thread in the homework section and post...
"Keep it up!"
Then your post count will sky-rocket.

Yes. People will meet an ill fate if they were to assume that post count = experience.
I have officially asked 2000 annoying questions
