I'm a beginner, but I will play anyone who wants to play. I've never used this the PF chess board so be patient.

Seems like a Reti opening :)

I think a Reti would have c4 at some stage, as well, but not sure

Eh? I don't want to castle (yet). I'm confused, is it my move as White now, or.... ?
Pattonias
Nov18-09, 02:30 PM
My bad, I guess I got confused were you playing black? I haven't looked at this game in a few days. It sucks that it doesn't prevent us moving the wrong pieces. I think I can fix it, i'll move the pieces back where they were. I'll wait for your responce first though to make sure I got it right : )
That was a brillian move, Pattonias. I've never seen that strategy used before.
Or, he could uncastle to get back to pre-move situation and then you just make your move (moving his queen into a more vulnerable position would probably hurt him more than castling).

Ok, all good now.
I was hoping you would castle. lol.
Don't feel too bad. The record for the most castle moves in a single serious tournament game is 3 by two very good players. Obviously, the third was illegal, but neither player noticed. After a short castle, the game progressed and the king wound up back in the same spot it started in. The player forgot he'd already castled once, so he made a long castle with the other rook.

That is pretty funny. I am finding it amusing how much chess in this forum is like a real game. We can actually do anything that a player in a live game could do, legal or illegal. It is up to us to avoid any mistakes or errors. There is still potential for two more castles. We just had to fix that last one. I don't suppose it is kosher to reach across the board and move for the other team.

Indeed, though I'm not sure how en passant captures would be handled, if at all
Pattonias
Nov19-09, 02:51 PM
I think en passant could be just moving your piece forward one space and then double clicking my pawn. I have accidentally deleted my own pieces several times using this method.

Sorry, only just seen your move. Castling would put your king on g1, and the rook on f1
