Checking for accuracy:
In my very elementary understanding of acids and bases, I have assumed the following:
1. H+ ions can actually pull molecules away from others on a surface of a given material through the electrical attraction between the H+ and the electrons of the said material.
Am I wrong, do they only just pull away the electrons?
2. OH- ions interact with surfaces through a similar electrical attraction. I have no clue how this actually transpires.
Please help!
