Interesting but very ambiguous.

If by 1 + 1 you mean having child/children conceived and then resulting in live birth(s) then about 98% of the time the answer is 3. However, 1 out of every 90 live births or so are twins, 1 out of 8,100 are triplets, 1 out of 729,000 are quadruplets and 1 out of every 65,610,000 are quintuplets.

And don’t forget about the odds of not producing child, or the mother dieing during childbirth etc etc.
