They make it sound as though Hawking claims to have resolved the black
hole information paradox. Now, it wouldn't be the first time Hawking
makes a bold claim but at any rate this is interesting. Couldn't find
any preprints etc.

[Moderator's note: Urs Schreiber has described, on SPS, a lecture by 't

There is no paper yet, which would give any details of what Hawking has in

simply acknowledges that this solves the problem for superstrings on
asymptotically AdS space. But maybe his claim is stronger. Nobody really
