Provided a matrix with characteristic poly of (x-1)^4 and minimal poly of (x-1)^2, I know the matrix will have a 2x2 companion matrix in the upper left, but how can I determine whether or not there will be 1's in the remaining diagonals, or an identical 2x2 matrix to the one in the upper right?
