Effect Size H: what is it?

I'm reading this paper that gives a bunch of figures describing them as "effect size h". Effect size r, I know about, but this has me stumped. What is it? How is it calculated, and is there a way of converting it easily into r (or anything else, for that matter)?

Any help would be appreciated.
