I am having a bit of problem understanding the Sigma delta ADC.
Can anyone check if I got this correctly.
1. The Sigma delta modulator oversamples the input and produces a waveform. lets say 1 bit at 10MHz
2. Now if I want to store that in a 8 bit register I must average it out. Is the averaging done instantaneously or after 8 bits. Also who decides how many readings to average?
3. And finally why is it that I have to wait for 2^N clock cycles to get N bit resolution?
