1. The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Virginia has an immediate opening for a Research Associate in the laboratory of Douglas A. Bayliss, Ph.D. The lab focuses on understanding cellular and molecular bases for regulation of neuronal excitability. Specifically, we study mechanisms of chemosensitivity in brainstem neurons that control breathing and mediators of anesthetic action (e.g. Nat Neurosci 7:1360, 2004; J Neurosci 29:600, 2009).
