Dear all,
I have some question about a (heavy) nucleus catching a K-electron: I do know that then a proton changes into a neutron.
But how about the energy?
The electron loses potential energie (and maybe kinetic too) so the nucleus gains energy.
Does the nucleus emit this in the form of a gamma ray? Or does the nucleus gets a more or less stable exited state?
Thanx for your help,
Best Regards,
