How to solve the Hamilton-Jacobi equation

Does anyone have any step by step guide to solving the Hamilton-Jacobi equation to find the trajectory and motion of a particle, say if all you're given is the potential. I can't find many examples worked through, and I don't fully understand the method.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
