Hi, I came across a publication where a curvilinear coordinate system is defined on a arbitrary parametrized curve. Below is a screen-shot from the paper.
In this appendix of math theory the metric tensor is just thrown forward. But how do i derive that tensor? the 1,1 term makes no sense to me. Is this derived somewhere in a textbook or could someone help me understand it please. Help would be greatly appreciated.
