One can certainly be green with envy at the quality of pictures submitted in this contest. So well done, everyone!

Please vote for the photo that BEST REPRESENTS our theme - Green With Envy. The photo must have, as its main subject, something with the color green.

Oh heavens. I know I keep repeating it, but this selection is just fabulous. You people are simply the best for sharing your visions with us.

I don't know that I can choose.

Andre and Turbo should get the award for perfectly presenting the envy of green to green, becoming and became.

<...> becoming and became.

I nominate this for the topic of the next contest.

While there are really impressive green things here -- and an absolutely adorable one, Marzena! -- redpenguin's stands out in terms of speaking to the literal topic at hand. Not just the green, but the envy too. The red vine appears rather annoyed the with lush green and is, seemingly being aggressive about it. It's a good shot and, in the context of this theme, tells a story.

With all the problems we've been having with PF the past couple of days, please don't forget to cast your vote for this contest.

Andre and Turbo should get the award for perfectly presenting the envy of green to green, becoming and became.Unfortunately, my tomato hornworm would have turned into a 5-spotted hawk moth, not some nice pretty butterfly. I try to kill those moths when I see them, because their caterpillars can decimate chili peppers in no time. They eat the leaves and the chilies, and they chew right through low stems to drop the leaves and chilies down to ground level for easy snacking, which is what the subject of my picture did. Luckily, he did that, so I would notice that part of one of my jalapeno plants was on the ground, and then catch him feasting. They are well-camouflaged and can be hard to spot, even with their large size.

Hence the envy...

I love Redbelly's too, but it's more "red with rage".

I'm sure you don't agree, but SevinŽ

would take care of that problem.

I wish there was a good way to attract assassin bugs - they are tough and are big enough to handle hornworms. I can get egg-cases for mantises, but the season is so short that they don't mature quickly enough to handle the big caterpillars.

...Um... were you a carnival barker in a past life, or maybe an auctioneer? I can practically hear the 'patter'!

(not meant as an insult)

edit: I just realized... if it's a tie, does that mean Andre and Turbo both win?... kind of what I was looking for.

Come on people, lets tie this sucker!

It's a hard decision.

it is indeed... those are some spectacular shots, often of rather intersting subjects.
