...ok, so after 3 or so years as a physics major, i find that the only subject that really interested me was stat mech/thermo. And a few weeks during condensed matter when the prof was covering transistors/semiconductors.
grad school in physics would seem odd if I wanted to concentrate on those things -- frankly, mechanics and e&m are boring. quantum has its interesting things, so it's not too bad.
Are there any specifics programs out there that deal heavily with stat mech? Looking around, it seems like material science might be what I'm looking for, but I'm not quite sure. any material scientists around that want to share their experiences?
Thanks.
