Magnetism

i need a good magnetism demonstration for a physics talk i have to do. It must be really short and easy to do as my time limit is very limiting.

If you have a large compass, a battery and some wire you could recreate the "Oersted" experiment. Even better for a demonstration is a transparent compass (most hiking compasses have clear bottoms--outdoor stores like REI, EMS etc have plenty of them) which can be put on an overhead projector.
