Okay so the melting points are: (cis,cis) >20 C 287 lambda, (trans,trans)- 110 C and 330 lambda, (cis,trans) 60 C 295 lambda.
Why would the trans trans cause almost a 100 C change in mp?

Could someone please explain the lambda max's for me?

Edit: corrected some info
