HP is currently running a television ad with theme song lyrics something like ... people taking pictures ... to prove they loved one another ... a long time ago. This has some really interesting anthropological and human psychology implications.

In his song, Kodachrome, Paul Simon seems overly concerned that his mother will not allow him to use a certain kind of film. Somehow, proper function of the memory portion of his brain depends on it.

The lyrics to another song suggest the singer is being altered genetically while making use of a new radiological technique. It goes ... I took your picture ... to the Doctor ... so I could see you from the inside out ... I think I might be turning Japanese.

Another television ad conveys ... I've had your picture so long that I'm beginning to think it is real. Is this a condition that can be helped by counselling, or would a quality enlargement be the better choice?

The HP ad points to something our forefathers and mothers never had; digital photography and how it affects us.

One more thought; along with the Internet, digital cameras have enhanced our lives to the point where we are all able to quickly, easily and affordably enjoy and share every aspect of ourselves. This also includes oh, so many varieties of pornography. Isn't that great?

Anyone care to comment?

Here's another neat advert. No photos this time.

This one's to do with the perfect spaghetti sauce. Music plays. Pretty young woman shopping a small village market, which deals exclusively in spaghetti dinner ingredients, is buying ingredients for dinner and says to the clerk who is turned away from her, "Excuse me. Can you help me?" She needs the perfect sauce for the dinner, otherwise all will be disappointed and she'll be a failure forever. He turns, their eyes meet. Along with the moment, he gets a jar of perfection kept safely on the shelf behind the counter. Dinner is perfect. It's one of those first floor balcony settings. Everyone is obviously super pleased. As she's basking in her success, she looks toward the rue and who should she see, and who should see her? The handsome young clerk of course. He's going home after closing shop and her place is just on the way. Oh, you just know their future is cast and will include many, many jars of whatever sauce that is.

About the first post, as if it's important. I didn't get the lyrics right with the HP spot. I saw it again. It's more like ... Picture book ... pictures of your Mama ... taken by your Papa ... to prove they loved each other ... a long time ago ...

Yoplait has given a really nice photographic theme to the oldie, Itsy Bitsy, Teenie Weenie, Red and Yellow Polka Dot Bikini ... absolutely delightful little bit of telly advert.
Have you seen it?

Of course you remember the very pretty song There She Goes. It's now even prettier with the accompanying images advertising Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Images which appeal so strongly to our own self image and needs show that advertisers do indeed know how to effectively reach us. Also, notice the animated "flower girl" and her graceful, flowing, ballet like movements ... I can identify with her ... don't you feel she represents us nicely? Well. at least as we'd like to be. Guys, is this how you see us?
