1. prove that the gravitational force on a point mass located anywhere inside a hallow, spherically symmetric shell is zero. assume that the mass of the shell is M and the constant density p. assume also that the radii of the inside and the outside surfaces of the shell are r1 and r2. the mass of the point is m. Where do I begin?



2. i know i have to use fg= G(Mr*dm/r^2). do i also use dMr/dr=4πp and substitute it into the first equation?
