I'm having trouble with a Heisenberg uncertainty question. My question has someone dropping a mass from a certain vertical height to a target below. but I'm supposed to find the average miss distance from the target. my trouble is that if you only have motion in the y-direction, how can you calculate a momentum in the x-direction? does anyone see my confusion here and can help me?
