Ideas for supersonic science exhibition

I have been tasked to come up with an exhibition for the general public in the science centre dealing with the topic of supersonic aerodynamics. Basically i would need to educate the audience the science behind supersonic flows/shocks etc. And design an experiment/display that showcases this. Together with a WOW factor in it.

Firstly, building a supersonic wind tunnel in the exhibition hall is out of the question.

I have been racking my brains about this, and so far i have seen a 'water jump' experiment on youtube that tries to explain shock with an analogy using discontinous water flow over a tunnel/duct.
