Can anyone explain to me more about Superstring thoery or M brane theory. From what i understand from the little i've read about it they say there are an infinite amount of universes with an infinite amount of possibilities, and so therefor the fact that our universe exists isnt so special. Since our universe would be one universe in an infinite amount of possible universes. If im correct on that, i was wondering where the individual consciousness fit into things. If our consciousness is made up of neurons in the brain, like the fact that im me and you are you, is just different configuration of neurons in the brain, then wouldnt that combination of memories or neorons in the brain that make me aware im me, or make you aware you are you, be happening in some other universe since there is an infinite amount of universes and even though there are a huge amount of combinations of neurons or possible memories one can have, its not an infinite combination. Im not heavy into physics or consciousness as is probably noticeable, ive just taken an interest in it lately. So any response would be appreciated..and the less complex the better

All atoms that now exist [including those that compose our brains] originated in the Big Bang, per current theory. The question then becomes how they managed to organize them in the manner currently observed: given observational constraints and assuming they are the result of a causal sequence of events.

Hi,

If there are truly an infinite number of universes, then there must exist, at this exact moment, an identical copy of each one of us somewhere in this meta-verse.

This copy would have had the same experience as each one of us and the same memories also.

However, if our individuality comes from a higher dimensional state than that of a physical meta-verse, the identity of the copy might be different.

My theory of course is there are in fact a near infinite number of dimensions although we can't see them or even percieve them, this I call the super infinity string theory; proove me wrong?

Look string theory is the delusional rantings of a scientist turned philosopher, if it's right then can we have some proof please? No we may never be able to proove it; oh right I see you've removed the burden of proof  not at all my friend for what is proof? time for your medication now Dr. Freeman

'nuff said really proove me wrong

now what do you mean about "near infinite". infinity is not a value; 10^999 is no closer to infinity than 1. i agree with you that string theory is philosophy as is theoretical physics in general, but i completely disagree with you that it is delusional. string theory is a mathematically sound philosophy that describes the universe on all observable scales. the fact that it makes predicions about what happens on unobservable scales does not come close to making it invalid. it would in my opinion be about as arbitrary to accept a theory that assumes that all that happens in the universe happens on observable scales; how convenient that would be!

having an infinite number of universes can be identical to having one depending on your definition of universe. i can say that i live in one of an infinite number of 4 dimensional universes or that i live in one universe with more than four dimension and i would be implying the same thing. i prefer to think of the universe as being singular because i think that all of the proposed "parallel universes" are connected in some way and abide the same fundamental laws.
if you consider the idea of having identical copies of the same universe (or the same mind), there are absolutely no implications of such a circumstance, so they are quite literally the same one. i think it becomes interesting when you think about quantum chaos because for every moment of chaos there exists a new part of the universe that encompasses all of the possible circumstances and their consequences. in other words, if i roll a die that is truly random, it will land on every number in different parts of the universe (or in parallel universes if you prefer), but since my brain cant send information throught these extra dimensions (or from one parallel universe to another) i can only be conscious of one circumstance.
