View Full Version : Flux integrals and modeling surfaces with MAPLE 13

I have this maple project for my calculus class. The directions are to do problems in the book but use Maple to solve them. I've done pretty good so far (most dot products, cross products and such but nothing really complicated) but this one is holding me up. I'm not even sure where to begin to do this using Maple.

Here is the directions for this problem set:

Evaluate these integrals for the following data. Indicate kind of surface (or in this case, produce a graph/model in Maple).

I'm given:
F: [y^3, x^3,z^3]

With the surface described as:

{S}={x}^{2}+4\,{y}^{2}=4

I know I need to go about parameterizing the surface with two variables. I'm having trouble visualizing this surface and how to go about translating what I need to do into Maple.
